Madness Photography started as an official, serious company in 1998.
But the history of Madness Photography started long before. Onno “Berserk” Wieringa, founder and owner of Madness Photography, has been a self-taught photographer since he was a little kid and started to take pictures of something he loved since the day he was born: motorcycles!

His motorcycles
After he finished high school, he started working for various Harley-Davidson shops, where he learned to work on bikes. At the age of 17, he already owned two Triumph’s and when he was eighteen he had four Triumphs and a Suzuki GT 750. After getting his drivers license, when he was eighteen, the Triumphs all had to go and were replaced by a bike that he had wanted since the day he was born; a Harley-Davidson. This bike is still in his life; it’s an FXE-F 1200 Super Glide Fat Bob, which has been rebuild and modified endlessly and ridden for many miles. Going everywhere on the bike, there was one thing he always had in his pocket; his camera!
At the age of 23 he started drag racing, and he and his team named “Midnight Madness”, raced the bike on all the major races and drag strips all over Europe. He has competed in many classes; starting with the Street bikes, than Ultimate Street Bike, Super Stock, Pro-Stock, and then finally in the fastest gas burning class; Top Gas! Also again taking thousands of photo’s of everything interesting, at every racetrack! Being a racer for more than 18 years gave him insight in the world of fast bikes, and he’s still involved in the world of drag racing as a helper/mechanic and of course photographer / reporter.

The Lavant. New in the 2013 Belstaff Pure Motorcycle Collection

The Lavant. New in the 2013 Belstaff
Pure Motorcycle Collection

This is a brand new for 2013 leather jacket, and it's just about as classic as they come. It ticks all the boxes and has all the styling cues you would expect to see on a café-racer style leather jacket.
That having been said, don't go expecting loads of fancy bells and whistles. This is a back to basics biker jacket. But it has been put together beautifully. From the top of the neck to the bottom of the waistband, this jacket is pure class.

The leather is bull grain of between 1mm and 1.1mm in thickness. You get Cordura backed stretch panels at the elbows, in the shoulders and on the back.
There are CE protectors in the shoulders and elbows. These are made by D3O and, of course, you get a pocket for a back protector. For warmth, there's a detachable quilted jacket with 120 gramme padding on the body and 80 grammes on the sleeves. The jacket comes with four pockets on the outside and two on the inside. Just about everywhere, there's an adjuster or stretch panel, so fit should never be an issue. There are ventilation panels on the back, corduroy in the collar, a subtle logo on the sleeve and, of course, a heavy-duty zip for attaching the jacket to Belstaff's Castle Comb leather pants.

Understated this jacket may be, but it wants for nothing. It would be difficult to look anything but cool in a Lavant. Click here  to order yours now.

Buckcherry Interview By Rea McLean

Buffalo Chip News

Buckcherry Interview
By Rea McLean

Saturday morning Keith Nelson from Buckcherry took the time to chat with me to discuss why his upcoming show at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip will be so unique and other things have been going on in his life. Being a long time Buckcherry fan myself it was quite a treat to have a chance to talk with him.

Q: You released your 6th album, Confessions, earlier this year, but still chose to play the album 15 for this year’s show. Tell us how you chose this album to be the one to be played.

A: We have played at The Chip for a number of years and we wanted to do something unique this year so we chose to play the album 15 front to back. We’ve never done this before and probably won’t do it again, it’s a unique opportunity and may be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see.

Q: This will be your 6th time playing at the Buffalo Chip which is great! What specifically are you looking forward to about performing there this year?

A: The crowd! It’s like nothing else, they are so energetic and with the revving of the motorcycles, it’s quite a party.  The crowd really makes the experience at the Chip. Plus we’re really looking forward to playing with The Cult. We have so much respect for them, it’s really going to be a great night with two incredible rock and roll bands.

Q: Do you remember your first experience playing at the Chip, what was that like and what was special about it?

A: I remember that it was dark when you looked into the crow and you could hear revving motorcycles and it took a few moments to realize what it was, the energy is great. There’s nothing like it.

Q: What do you guys really like about playing at the Chip?
A: The people and the bike, the culture.  But there are lots of memories there and it’s always a good time. We usually meet up with friends from all over and having a pow wow backstage.

Q: I understand some of you guys ride, have you had a chance to ride in Sturgis during the rally or to participate in any events while up there?

A: A Few of the guys ride. We haven’t ridden during the rally but one year we went in early and stayed with friends and did a little riding, it’s great riding there. Usually we’re back to back booked with shows, we may be a 1000 miles away the night  before, wish we had more time, we’d do more if we could.

Q: How would you describe the Chip as a venue?

A: Sturgis is the Chip. The crowds are incredible, it’s quite an experience. So fun every year!

Q: I understand your tattoo artist had a pretty big impact on you guys and helping to get you guys introduced. Have tattoos always been a big part of your life?

A: Yeah he was! Kevin Quinn at the sunset strip shop on sunset knew I was looking for a band and that Josh ha
