MADNESS PHOTOGRAPHY

Madness Photography started as an official, serious company in 1998.
But the history of Madness Photography started long before. Onno “Berserk” Wieringa, founder and owner of Madness Photography, has been a self-taught photographer since he was a little kid and started to take pictures of something he loved since the day he was born: motorcycles!

His motorcycles
After he finished high school, he started working for various Harley-Davidson shops, where he learned to work on bikes. At the age of 17, he already owned two Triumph’s and when he was eighteen he had four Triumphs and a Suzuki GT 750. After getting his drivers license, when he was eighteen, the Triumphs all had to go and were replaced by a bike that he had wanted since the day he was born; a Harley-Davidson. This bike is still in his life; it’s an FXE-F 1200 Super Glide Fat Bob, which has been rebuild and modified endlessly and ridden for many miles. Going everywhere on the bike, there was one thing he always had in his pocket; his camera!
At the age of 23 he started drag racing, and he and his team named “Midnight Madness”, raced the bike on all the major races and drag strips all over Europe. He has competed in many classes; starting with the Street bikes, than Ultimate Street Bike, Super Stock, Pro-Stock, and then finally in the fastest gas burning class; Top Gas! Also again taking thousands of photo’s of everything interesting, at every racetrack! Being a racer for more than 18 years gave him insight in the world of fast bikes, and he’s still involved in the world of drag racing as a helper/mechanic and of course photographer / reporter.

Biker Belles In Velocity TV’s All Girls Garage

Of Velocity TV’s All Girls Garage

Sturgis, SD (September 2013) – A custom Harley Davidson helped raise a record donation for charity during the Biker Belles® auction on Aug. 6, 2013 at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip®. The one-of-a-kind motorcycle, donated by Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Harley Davidson, was customized by moto-celebrity, Jessi Combs, for the Velocity television show, “All Girls Garage.”  The program features female mechanics repairing and upgrading classic automobiles and motorcycles, and during its Friday, Sept. 14 episode, it will spotlight both the Buffalo Chip’s Biker Belles celebration and this custom Harley.

In the upcoming episode of All Girls Garage, Jessi Combs highlights the reasons why the Biker Belles charity ride is of particular interest—celebrating women and the role they play in shaping the culture, sport, art and history of motorcycling. Proceeds from the event for which Jessi customized the bike benefit two local charities:  Helping with Horsepower and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame.

On Sept. 14, viewers can see exclusive footage of Jessi leading the Biker Belles ride through the scenic Black Hills on the Softail Slim she customized for the show. The 2013 Biker Belles event began at the Lodge at Deadwood with an inspiring symposium of leading industry women. The day-long event then ended at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip with a special catered reception, a fashion show featuring Harley Davidson MotorClothes® and a live and silent auction.

The auction featured an array of tempting items, but the All Girls Garage customized Harley was the prize everyone had their eye on. When bidding came to a close, it was Pat Simmons of the Doobie Brothers that held the winning bid. The guitar legend and motorcycle enthusiast explained that he purchased the custom Harley Davidson as a present for his wife. Including Simmons’ purchase, the Biker Belles auction raised over $36,000 for the two charities.

“We’re proud to support women riders by hosting the Biker Belles for the fifth year,” says Rod Woodruff, president of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. “Seeing Pat Simmons give the All Girls Garage bike to his wife was extra special, considering it was here at the Chip that the couple first met. I look forward to reliving that moment again when the program airs.”

To see this remarkable bike and highlights from the Biker Belles celebration, watch Jessi Combs host All Girls Garage on Velocity, at 11:30 a.m. ET/PT, Sept. 14. HARLEY-DAVIDSON IN UPCOMING MARVEL FILM, 'CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER'

SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON REVEALS HARLEY-DAVIDSON IN UPCOMING MARVEL FILM, 'CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER'
Marvel Studio's Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, Rides Newest Softail Model

MILWAUKEE – Next Spring on April 4, 2014, two icons of freedom will roll onto the silver screen with the release of Marvel Studios™ "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Fans at San Diego Comic-Con were excited to see exclusive footage of the film including the reveal of Steve Rogers' choice of Harley-Davidson® in this movie.

In the upcoming film, Steve Rogers' character will be riding Harley-Davidson's newest Softail® motorcycle, the Breakout. Launched to the world in March, the Breakout makes a modern statement, but harkens back to the timeless aesthetics for which Harley-Davidson is known.

"Captain America and Harley-Davidson have had a long and glorious association dating back to the introduction of the character in 1939," said Dino Bernacchi, Harley-Davidson Marketing Communication Director. "He's ridden different Harleys throughout the history of the character, and his bike for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" needed to fit the modern day setting of this story. Our newest model, the Softail Breakout, with custom touches that personalize the bike for his character was the perfect choice for this film."

Starting in 2011 with Captain America: The First Avenger, and continuing in 2012 with Marvel's The Avengers "Assemble Your Freedom" contest and recently with Marvel's Iron Man 3 "Man & Machine" contest, the collaboration between Harley-Davidson and Marvel has successfully connected these two powerful and inspirational brands.

"Captain America makes the perfect marketing partner for Harley-Davidson as he truly embodies the iconic, heroic, and American aspects of our brand," said Bernacchi. "Both Captain America and our motorcycles are great symbols of freedom."
